What is the Intel® Performance Maximizer?

A uniquely innovative, automated CPU overclocking tool exclusively from Intel that makes it easy to dynamically custom-tune a processor based upon its individual performance DNA.


What makes it unique?

Other overclocking tools fail to consider the individual performance potential of a given processor, instead generalizing and setting the speed that a given processor should be able to run.

Intel® Performance Maximizer provides an unprecedented window into what a single, individual processor is capable of—running an extremely robust performance validation analysis and then adjusting settings to match the distinctive capabilities of an individual, unlocked processor.

Intel® Performance Maximizer also offers peace of mind with the option to replace the processor once if needed with the Performance Tuning Protection Plan that is included with the Intel® Performance Maximizer purchase.


What is the Performance Tuning Protection Plan?

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan is an additional plan to cover processor failures caused by operating the eligible processor outside of Intel’s published specifications. Starting with 9th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and going forward, the Performance Tuning Protection Plan will be included with the purchase of the Intel® Performance Maximizer.


Does using Performance Tuning Protection Plan alter my standard warranty?

No. The standard warranty covers failures that occur while the processor is used within Intel’s published specification. The Performance Tuning Protection Plan covers an eligible processor that fails due to overclocking.


What happened to the old Performance Tuning Protection Plan?

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan is a key component of the Intel® Performance Maximizer. Starting with 9th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors and going forward, the Performance Tuning Protection Plan will be included with Intel® Performance Maximizer.


How do I protect my processor if it is not a 9th Generation Intel® Core™ Processor?

The Processor Tuning Protection Plan is still available as an independent program for older generation boxed processors.

What is the cost for Intel® Performance Maximizer?

Prices depend on the processor that was purchased. Please login to your account and refer to the purchase page (https://click.intel.com/Intel-Performance-Maximizer/purchase-a-plan) for specific pricing.


Who is eligible for this Plan? Can anyone purchase it at any time?

Integrators, resellers and end users are able to purchase the Plan during the first year of eligible processor ownership.


How many replacements am I eligible to receive?

You will receive one replacement processor. The Processor Tuning Protection Plan does not transfer to the replacement processor.


What processors does the Intel® Performance Maximizer cover?

The list of processors covered are on the Purchase a Plan page. Only the processors listed there are eligible. See below for details on the Intel® Xeon® W-3175X processor.


How do I return a processor?

The return process depends on the purchase process. The purchaser should return the processor to the place of purchase. If the Intel® Performance Maximizer or Processor Tuning Protection Plan was purchased directly from Intel, contact Intel customer support.


Are there any countries where the Plan is not for sale?

Yes, sales are prohibited in countries subject to export sanction, and other prohibited countries as identified by our service provider PayPal at the following link:

What is your refund policy?

Refunds can be given up to 45 days from the date of purchase, provided the activation code has not been used. If you purchased from a retailer, you must go back to the place of purchase for a refund. If you purchased directly from Intel, you can request a refund by contacting Customer Support. (Not applicable for the Intel® Xeon® W-3175X)



Intel® Xeon® W-3175X Processor

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan is an included benefit with the purchase of the Intel® Xeon® W-3175X. No additional plan purchase is required. All other terms and conditions associated with the Performance Tuning Protection Plan apply.


Where do I buy the Plan?

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan is automatically included with your purchase of the Intel® Xeon® W-3175X processor. No additional purchase or activation code is required.
