FAQ's

What is the Performance Tuning Protection Plan?

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan (PTPP) is an additional plan to cover processor failures caused by operating the eligible processor outside of Intel’s published specifications.

Does using Performance Tuning Protection Plan alter my standard warranty?

No. The Plan does not affect your standard warranty. The standard warranty covers failures that occur while the processor is used within Intel’s published specification. The Performance Tuning Protection Plan covers an eligible processor that fails due to overclocking. See the Plan Terms and Conditions for more information.

How long am I protected under the Plan?

The PTPP plan is valid for the duration of your standard processor warranty. The Plan does not extend the standard warranty, only offers additional coverage during the standard processor warranty period. For more information about the standard processor warranty see this FAQ page.

Who do I contact if I have questions about my standard warranty?

For information requests or warranty exchange requests, please contact Intel Customer Support or go to this FAQ page.

How do I return a processor that has failed due to overclocking?

The return process depends on the purchase process. The purchaser should return the processor to the place of purchase. If PTPP was purchased directly from Intel, contact Intel customer support or go to this FAQ page.

Who do I contact for help with the purchase process?

For requests related to the plan purchasing process, contact Customer Support.

What is the cost for PTPP?

Prices depend on the processor that was purchased. Please login to your account and refer to the purchase page (https://click.intel.com/tuningplan/purchase-a-plan) for specific pricing.

Who is eligible for this Plan? Can anyone purchase it at any time?

Integrators, resellers and end users are able to purchase the Plan during the first year of eligible processor ownership.

How many replacements am I eligible to receive?

You will receive one replacement processor. The Processor Tuning Protection Plan does not transfer to the replacement processor.
